Robusta grows in the lowlands of the south and west of the island, at
altitudes below 800 meters. The tropical climate is dry and the soils are sandy.
They suit him better. The harvest is done manually between June and December.
This variety of coffee is distinguished by a stronger and more bitter taste. With a
higher caffeine content (between 2 and 2.5%) and better resistance to
diseases, it is usually used to strengthen the body and the cream of
espresso blends.
